To Benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA)

Quality State Oil for the 22nd consecutive year will host a golf outing to benefit Muscular Dystrophy.  Along with event co-sponsor CITGO Petroleum, you are invited to participant in this great event to raise money in the fight against neuromuscular disease.

Last year a group of 120 golfers joined at Quit Qui Oc Golf Club in Elkhart Lake Wisconsin to continue the fight for a cure to this debilitating disease.  Event organizer Scott Stangel said, "Year after year many of the same people attend this great event.  They realize it's as great opportunity to take some time away from their busy schedules, to come together and support this great cause.  They really appreciate the event and the exciting day it offers."

For 21 years Quality State Oil has sponsored this golf challenge, and every year it grows.  The 2010 event raised $42,000, with the money raised through its annual Shamrocks Against Dystrophy sales event; Quality State Oil contributed $65,000 to MDA.

Plans are underway for 2011, which according to coordinator Stangel, "will be even a bigger year".

There are many ways you can participate, and become part of the effort to defeat this disease.  Click here.

SHAMROCK SUCCESS FOR Q MART

Q Mart Marketplace Stores exceeded its goal of sending 30 kids to MDA Summer Camp.  By raising $24,638 during the recently completed Shamrocks Against Dystrophy fund raiser, Q Mart for the 5th consecutive year increased its contribution to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

The Geele Avenue Sheboygan store with $6084 again led all stores, followed by the Broadway Avenue Sheboygan Falls store with $4821.

The strength of this year’s sale came from the stores outside of the Sheboygan area.  This group of six increased its total shamrocks sold by nearly 100% over 2010 levels.  Leading the way was the Green Bay Road store in Sturgeon Bay with overall sales of $1186.

“Everyone really did an outstanding job”, said Scott Stangel Coordinator of the event.  “We really had focus from the stores outside of Sheboygan County.  They really made the difference.  Without their extra efforts, our goal of sponsoring 30 kids to camp would not have been possible.”

It takes much more than simply asking people to purchase a one dollar shamrock to reach such lofty heights.  Many creative methods were used.  Some of the better and more effective ideas were selling business sponsorships, business matching contributions, customer challenges, purchasing clubs, and store vs. store, and associated vs. associate sales contests.  All these ideas came from store personnel who are servicing Q Mart customers’ everyday.

For Quality State Oil it’s on to the next MDA fundraiser, the 22nd annual golf outing.  Again this year the outing will be held at Quit Qui Oc Golf Club.  The event is scheduled for July 13.  This again is a great way to have fun while supporting a great cause. Sponsorship and golfing participation opportunities are still available.
